Spring Detroit River Walleye

April 15, 2024 //  by Kevin Johnston

4/15/24

Launched from St. Jean in Detroit. Vertical jigged the Manoogian Mansion without a tap. Jigged downstream of the Belle Isle Bridge – nothing. Tried downstream of Belle Isle – nothing. Fished around the Canadian Club whiskey plant and caught 12 keeper walleye. Either a watermelon or brown/red tail plastic on a 3/4 or 1 oz. jig head. No lunkers, but we were happy to catch or limit of walleye.

Craig with two of twelve walleye.
Oh yeah – that’s me with our two man limit.
