March 18th – open water season 2025

March 18, 2025 //  by Kevin Johnston

3/18/25

March 18th and I fished open water in Lake Saint Claire. Launched from Harley Ensign and fish Mac Ray marina. I caught largemouth bass, golden shiner, perch, bluegill and a rock bass; species cup day. Minnows caught a few perch, everything else came in ice fishing jigs tipped with a spike. The best catch / find was an abandoned fender.

Nice bluegill!
Big Rock bass; the only rock bass I caught.
Decent perch – most of the perch were 3″ to 5″ long.
Super nice boat fender I found!
