12/15 Trip started as a bluegill and crappie run on Lake Saint Clair. The first five marina canals were frozen over, so I did some scouting and found a a deeper canal with open water. Fished with 1/64 oz jigs with panfish assassin plastics one one rod, and a live minnow under a float on the other rod. Straight, painfully slow retrieve with the jig caught the most big fish. The minnow rig caught loads of dinks and a few decent perch. It was a real treat to boat fish Lake Saint Clair mid December.
