Walleye on Lake Saint Clair and Detroit River

May 20, 2024 //  by Kevin Johnston

Fished Lake Saint Clair in the morning and caught a couple walleye along with a small musky trolling green crawler harnesses 15 ft water 1.2 MPH off the 400 Club. Ran bottom bouncers directly off the stern and 1 oz keel sinkers with 25′ between the planer board and crawler harness. Jig fished the Upper Detroit river with either 1/2 or 1 oz jigs dressed with brown Wyandotte worms and caught a few more. No monsters but great eating sized walleye. Bonus species included a huge sucker and a couple of drum.

Great eating walleye
HUGE white horse sucker caught jigging.
